Nipple Buckets

How do we feed so  many kids at once?

After we bottle feed for a few days (more if the goat is sickly or just needs an extra boost), we switch them from a bottle to a nipple bucket.  These are easy to make, and Lee made two:

6 nipple bucket9 nipple bucket (without the nipples on)

One of these square buckets had laundry soap in it to start out, and the other had kitty litter.  Square buckets work better than round ones.  Drill holes on 3 sides of the bucket, and leave one side flat to lie flat against the wall.  Insert your PVC fittings into the holes and glue with PVC glue.  Allow to dry very thoroughly!  Stretch lamb's nipples over the fittings.  The nipples can be removed easily for washing and/or replacement as they wear out.  We hang ours up with what was a chain dog leash, on a hook in the baby pen.  It lies flat against the wall, and the kids feed on the 3 nipple sides.
